The Meadows Group specialises
in the production of fresh mushrooms producing on average 125 tonnes a week of the
different varieties . This volume is made up of Swiss Browns (brown
buttons), Portabellos (brown flats) and White Buttons.
The traditional white button is the majority of production and the better known of
the product range. All three products are from the Agaricus bisporus family.
The browns, a different strain to the whites have been developed to have a slightly
stronger, more mushroomy flavour with a firmer texture.
