Sometimes the best collaborations start with a simple idea: take something people already love and make it even better.
That’s exactly what happened when Meadow Mushrooms teamed up with Toastie Lords, the Christchurch and Picton-based toastie legends, to create something special for mushroom lovers.
The result was The Murray, a mushroom toastie that brought together the delicious flavour of locally grown Meadow mushrooms and the golden, cheesy goodness Toastie Lords had become known for.
A toastie made for mushroom lovers Toastie Lords had built a name for themselves creating seriously good toasted sandwiches, and their Christchurch and Picton locations had become go-to spots for toastie fans.
When the opportunity came to collaborate, mushrooms were an obvious choice.
At Meadow, we’ve always believed mushrooms deserve a starring role. They’re flavour-packed, versatile and capable of transforming a simple meal into something memorable.
The Murray gave us the chance to showcase exactly that.
Bringing the flavour
The collaboration brought together two local food-loving businesses with a shared passion for creating delicious food.
Meadow supplied the mushrooms, while Toastie Lords worked their toastie magic to create The Murray.
The result was a toastie that celebrated the humble mushroom in a deliciously indulgent way. It was a reminder that mushrooms could be so much more than a side dish. They could be the hero.
